Operations Manager – Victoria
TerraWest Environmental is searching for an ambitious and growth-minded Operations Manager for our Victoria office.
The Operations Manager plays an important key leadership role in managing the overall growth and development of the regional office and staff. During the day to day they are responsible for maintaining the existing clients and developing new client business while coordinating the completion of Phase I & II ESAs, Stage 1 & 2 PSIs, Detailed Site Investigations, Remediation, Compliance Monitoring, Auditing, and related contaminated sites services with their regional team.
This role reports directly to the VP of Operations and CEO. A desire to socialize with new clients, train staff, mentor, and provide excellent leadership is extremely important.

This role is best suited for those who are calm under pressure, enjoy the autonomy of growing and managing their own “micro business”, and have the personal responsibility to take action for positive change.
- Current and good standing with APEGBC, BCIA, ACPBC, ASTTBC or CAB. Note that candidates currently residing outside of BC will be considered, but must be actively registered with their local professional association and be eligible for transfer to provincial organizations;
- At least 5 years experience in environmental consulting, having actively completed Phase I & II ESAs, Stage 1 & 2 PSIs, DSIs, Remediation, and related work, including a strong baseline of field experience and experience in project management and report preparation, preferably at least 3 of these years working in BC;
- Proven leadership skills;

Senior Environmental Project Manager
We are searching for an ambitious and growth-minded Senior Environmental Project Manager for our Prince George office. This position is supported by our Manager of Northern Operations.
What we are looking for in You
The Senior Environmental Project Manager plays an important leadership role in managing Phase I and II environmental site assessments, Stage 1 and 2 preliminary and detailed site investigations, project budgeting, hazardous materials investigations, environmental remediation, compliance monitoring, auditing, and related contaminated sites services.
- A positive, friendly, open-minded, team-oriented attitude;
- Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree in a field relevant to the position. Membership with a professional organization is an asset;
- Minimum of 7 years’ environmental consulting experience in progressively more senior roles, preferably at least 4 of these years working in BC;
- Minimum 3 years direct experience in contaminated sites assessments and remediation;
- Proven project management skills;
- Willing to cross-train for hazardous materials investigations if necessary;

Environmental Technologist
TerraWest Environmental is offering an immediate opportunity for an ambitious and growth minded Environmental Technologist within our Prince George office.
The technologist position plays an important role in the execution of our environmental projects and data collection in the field. In this role, the candidate will gain experience and expertise for the completion of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Stage 1 and 2 preliminary site investigations, detailed site investigations, remediation, compliance monitoring, auditing, hazardous materials investigations and related. You will also expand on your knowledge of project logistics, client liaison and problem solving.

Specific job duties include but are not limited to:
- Completion of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Environmental investigations, and related environmental projects. Including historical document research and retrieval;
- Hazardous Materials Assessments. Although not a core portion of the business from the Prince George office there is the opportunity to learn in this area;
- Field work and technical data collection, including soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling, with travel as required;
- Maintenance of field equipment and related office duties;
- Client and subcontractor liaison, scheduling, and scheduling logistics;
- Report preparation, drafting, tabulation of analytical data, and supporting document creation; and
- Adherence to the Health and Safety program, team communication, basic administrative works, and related support.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week (5 x 8 hrs per day). Field related work can often require longer days on Site which are compensated at overtime rates;
Travel required: Yes. Amount varies based on project work.
Compensation: From $25.00 per hour. Starting compensation will vary based on relevant, transferable, or direct environmental work experience.
Schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work where required during specific projects or for travel. Not anticipated to be common but may occur.
Work location: In person. Work from home or hybrid models may be appropriate for some applicants based on their specific needs or experience. Our preference is for an in-person work environment.

Biology Technologist or Technician
About the Role
We have an immediate opening for a Field-Based Biology Technologist or Technician to join our growing team in Victoria, BC. This is a junior to intermediate role designed for individuals with 2–5 years of field-related experience. If you’re eager to build on your knowledge and contribute to a range of biological and environmental projects, this is an excellent opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fieldwork, including biological assessments, environmental monitoring/construction monitoring, water quality monitoring, erosion and sediment control works, bird and nest surveys, amphibian and fish surveys and salvage works.
- Support a variety of projects involving broad ecological systems and regulatory compliance.
- Gather, analyze, and report on technical data, including preparation of field documentation and written reports.
- Reporting involving environmental management plans, protection plans, assessments and permit applications.
- Assist in logistics and coordination, including liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain and calibrate field equipment to ensure high-quality data collection.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and support team members in delivering successful project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Credential: Registered Biology Technician (RBTech) or Biologist in Training (BIT).
- Education: Diploma or degree in biology, ecology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of field-based experience in BC or similar settings (e.g., ecology, water quality, construction monitoring, environmental monitoring).
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
- Attitude: Positive, professional, and grounded mindset with a focus on practical solutions.
- Other Requirements:
